The PREP Program

At MET Advisory, we don’t believe in interns making coffee, we believe in giving you real experience that matters.

🟡The PREP Program stands for “We Prepare You”. It is a three-month financial advisory internship based at our Petaling Jaya head office, designed to equip you with the skills, knowledge and confidence to step into a better field afterwards, whether that is in financial advisory or any other professional path you choose.

Twice a year, we open our doors to a select group of interns for our PREP Program, a 3-month, hands-on internship that puts you right in the middle of the action. This is your chance to learn the ropes of the financial advisory industry, side-by-side with our senior consultants. You will be placed with one of our departments - mortgage loans, SME loans, wealth management or will writing — based on your interest and where you will learn the most.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long is the PREP Program internship?
Three months, full-time, based at our Petaling Jaya head office. We run two intakes a year.
Is the internship paid?
Yes, we pay according to market rate.
What course do I need to be studying?
Finance, banking, business, economics and marketing students are a natural fit, but we accept applications from any field. Attitude and curiosity matter more than your course.
Do I need prior experience in financial advisory?
No. Most of our consultants had no banking or advisory background when they joined. The programme is designed to teach you from the start.
When does the next intake open?
We open applications twice a year. Follow us on Instagram to hear first, or submit the form below to register your interest and we will contact you when the next intake opens.
Can this lead to a full-time role?
Interns who perform well and enjoy the work are considered for our consultant intake. Several of our current team started this way.
How do I become a good financial advisor in Malaysia? Can PREP interns join the full-time track?
Yes. PREP interns who perform well can move into our full-time financial planning track through two interviews. From there, we mentor you toward becoming a Registered Financial Planner (MFPC) — covering client consultation skills, product knowledge, and the practical, real-world habits that make a good financial planner, not just a licensed one.
